Lets Talk Weight Loss

It is Monday so I'm back with my weekly update.  Then I also wanted to share some pinterest fun with you on eating clean.

I think if I remember correctly last time we talked I weighed 160-161 and was wearing about a size 10 in pants.  Sad to say the only reason I need a size 10 is not for my legs or my butt, but so the button will fasten around my waist.  I need an 8 for the rest, so I'm sagging for awhile.

I am happy to now tell you I weigh 158 (12 pounds lost in three weeks) and those size 10 pants are falling off this chica.  I'm not officially in size 8 in everything but I can pull it off with the right top.

Things I focused on this week:
1.  Working out - Brazilian Butt Lift Week 1 = success!
Three more weeks to go on this program and man is it hard.  And its super hard to get motivated while doing it by myself and in a small living room.  I'm so set on moving it outside if I had a way to view the video on a large screen.  And the heat wouldn't kill me.  I will say Connor is a good motivator and loves watching me.

2.  Watching my calories.  I'm trying to keep them at 1200 if I'm not working out and about 2000 when working out.  I think the hard part this week is remembering to eat.  I'm not as hungry AND I forget to eat because I'm so busy with the kiddos.  Yes I use to say how could one forget to eat, well I think about it but then get on a bunny trail doing something else.

3.  Researching recipes and articles to read which has kept me motivated.

4.  Eating more vegetables!  One way I get some of my veggies in is through my shakeology drink.  I have a chocolate shakeology with a banana, tbsp of natural peanut butter, and a cup of spinach!!!  Who would of thought that it still taste the same without the spinach - so I love that I can get a cup of veggies in easily.

Since I know Pinterest is all the rave right now I thought I would share with you guys some fun things I've found on there, plus if you follow me you can always check out my Clean and Lean folder.

For starters this is All you need to know:

So if you can stick with these two rules of thumb your on to a great start.  Don't fool yourself when you say you can eat this and work it off later in the gym, because sometimes you might not get to the gym or that sugar is really harder to work off than you think.

One....Two...Buckle My Shoe

I love to keep monthly photos of my children.  Of course I got really creative with Caden's, but it took a lot of time and energy to do.  Its funny to see how they look so much alike or the identical facial expressions they do.  So here is one month and two months!

Week 3 Update

Well the first week went well - lost 7 lbs
Then the second week hit and man it was hard - lost 2 lbs
Its the start of the third week and Im going back and forth between losing 7-9 lbs

We love to go out to eat so that has been my biggest struggle.  Its not hard to order something at the restaurant that I can eat, but its harder watching everyone else enjoy their alcohol and their super fatty foods!  My other struggle is that I don't have food planned out for the week, so when I get hungry during the day and nothing is ready to go to eat, I start getting tempted by other food.  Now if it was just me in the house I would not buy it, but my kids and hubby like it so its there.

So my goals this week are to start planning my meals on Sunday and cooking everything for the week (this will especially be helpful when I go back to work).  I am also going to start a 30 day workout program - Brazil Butt Lift.  Super excited!

I think with adding in the much needed exercise daily I will definitely see results in the next few weeks.  I also think when I go back to work and I'm not tempted and my schedule is fuller and more routine I will do really well in my food intake and working out schedule.

I will leave with this for the week and will return next Monday with a new update!

Two apps that have really helped me stay in control of my food are:

My fitness pal - it lets me record my food intake (like a diary) and enter my weight and exercising schedule.  So I know how many calories I need to intake daily and what my projected weight is.  In five weeks I should be weighing 10 pounds less.  Hope its correct!

Beyond Diet - a good friend of mine told me about this app and its a low fat finder.  Lets you know if its a smart choice of food to eat based on the calories and fat intake.

This Ain't Pretty

Checking in with an update and some pictures.  This past week I lost 7 pounds!  Just by eating clean and walking (3x).  Not too bad!  So now I'm at 163.  If my calculations are accurate in 5 weeks I should weigh about 154 if I continue doing what I'm doing.  Just in time to go back to work!  Not a bad start to the school year!  Now just imagine what could take place when I really start working out.  Exciting!!!

I wanted to share something with you I found on pinterest

You can see the website in the picture.  Basically this is a program where you can put in your current weight and then put in your projected weight and change up the model to kind of look like you and it shows you what you look like now and what you will look like.  Pretty cool!

Now for the moment I'm really not ready to share with anyone!  I really never get shy but I am right now.  I'm really thinking in my head ARE YOU CRAZY!  for sharing these photos to the world.  Lets just say I wasn't going to post these pictures until I had the after pictures to show the change, but a dear friend of mine talked me into posting them now so to make it official and to keep me motivated.  These are not pretty pictures but hey its me and I just had a baby or I should say I'm been pregnant for the last two years, so this is what pregnancy can do to a woman's body.

Here's to a new lifestyle and a healthier body!!!!

Measurements

Sorry guys been busy this week with doctor's appointment, bible study and getting my house and kids ready for the hubby to watch them by himself for the weekend while I spend the weekend at the Beth Moore Live Conference with my mommy and sister in Austin.  I told you I would post my measurements so here they are: (the program that I put my measurements in is not currently working at the moment so this is from memory so its not quite exact, I will update when it does come up) *UPDATED

Weight: 170
Waist: 38
Hips: 39
Chest: 41.2
Right Arm: 12.8
Left Arm: 12.2
Right Thigh: 23
Left Thigh: 22.9
Body Fat: 29+%

I also had Nick take current before pictures.  Once I get them off my camera (probably next week) I will post them.  I'm a little shy to post them - thats all I'm saying - not too pretty, but I still have my post pregnancy belly so just go with it and know it will look totally different in the near future.  I put all my measurements and information for what I am currently and what my goals are in a system bodybuilding.com has and it says I should be able to reach my goal weight by February 22, 2013.  So whether that is true or not (the calculations), that date is written in stone in my mind to work towards.

This first week has been really challenging trying new things, planning ahead of time to eat, and trying to eat 5-6 times a day.  But I'm kind of enjoying it and I believe once I get into a system I will be able to try even more good recipes.

Good News:
So I started the program on Monday and by Wednesday I had lost 5lbs already!  Today is Thursday and I lost another 2lbs.  Wow!  Now I know this won't happen all the time but its great to see it shedding.

170lbs July 9, 2012
163lbs July 12, 2012

28-33lbs left

Also my shakeology drinks are on order and should be here by next week - woohoo!  Seriously they are delicious.

I will check back in on Monday with an update and those pictures I promised.
A little motivation and inspiration before I go though

Straight Honesty to a Healthy Lifestyle

All In My Twenties
I have been a bunch of talk this summer and little to no action behind those words.  Today I am going to change that and start by just being honest with myself and whoever is reading this.

So let me take you back in time real quick.  Growing up I've always had big boobs and I would consider myself an athletic built and short (5'4"). I've always had to workout to maintain my weight.  I've always been super active so that has helped through swimming competively and working out regularly.  On the flip side of that I am a super picky eater.  Hate vegetables!!!  I mean literally I gag trying to get them down my throat.  When I graduated high school I was about 125lbs and actually maintained that weight through most of college.  I even had a breast reduction during college because it was super painful to find tops and bathing suits to fit me and they were just super heavy which I could for see many problems in the future.  Then it all caught up to me!  In 2003-2004 I was finishing up college and I found a picture of me and realized that I needed to change something and it needed to be fast!  If I could find that picture that described it all I would love to show you, but I probably did not keep a copy, oops.  I was probably about 170lbs.  It was awful and I always felt awful.  I drank alcohol but not like some college people do and really just did not watch what I ate.  Nor was exercise super important.  I eventually signed up for Quick Weight Loss and did their program for about 4-6 months in which I lost 40 pounds in 4 months.  I felt great and thought I looked great.  But I still was not exercising that much (man if I did, I would of seen even better results) and then it was not a diet to me that I could keep.  Sure I ate healthy, but I never got to treat myself.  In 2006 Nick and I got married and I was about 135 pounds and probably for the first half of our marriage I put on about 15 pounds so 150lbs became normal to me.  I looked and felt okay!  Then pregnancy hit for the next three years of my life and my weight has never been the same.

150lbs
Pregnant with Connor
200lbs
Had Connor
18 months later I was back to 150lbs
Pregnant with Caden
200lbs
Had Caden
4 months later I was 170lbs
Pregnant with Codi
190lbs
Had Codi
Immediately back to 170lbs

So here we are - I'm 170 pounds and I HATE it!  Ya sure I just had a baby a month ago, but it will take me forever to take this weight off if I just sit and don't do anything about it.  I promise I'm not being too hard on myself, I just know I am not healthy and I need to do something about it now while I can.  So I've been very inspired by the fitness model Kelsey Byers (look her up - she has a great story to tell) and I have been doing alot of research on eating clean and toning up my body.  I finally took the words I've been saying all summer ("I need to start eating better and working out") to heart and I started today.    Yes I know its not going to come off real fast, but I know it will sooner than later.

So here I am at 170lbs post pregnancy with Caden on our Cruise in August 2011 - basically me now.

My goal weight is 130-135 lbs and to be about 16% body fat.  I am probably 29+% right now.

How am I going to do it?

Well first off I signed up to be a coach on Beachbody website (people who sell Insanity and other great stuff) and ordered the Shakeology Meal replacer drinks.  They are super yummy!!! I just home direct them and shipping is free and I get a 30 day supply monthly.

Check it out on my website:  http://beachbodycoach.com/Apes1209

Secondly I am writing down everything I eat in a notebook (this is a big KEY)

I am eating 5-6 times a day - eating about every 2-3.5 hours.  Drinking 1 gallon of water a day before 4pm

Finally I am working out (I haven't started this yet, because my doctor hasn't given me permission) but I am walking about 2 miles with the kiddos right now.  Then after I go to the doctor this week, I will start running until I think my body is ready to start Insanity!!!  Nick and I purchased this before I knew I was pregnant with Codi.  So our goal is to start that beginning of August.  Then I want to add in some weight lifting to tone of my muscles.  I hope when I go back to work to start swimming and working out with my kiddos at work so I don't have to do much when I get home.  I plan to work out 5-6 times a week.  Cardio in the morning and Weight lifting at night.

Wish me luck and would love the support!!!

Tomorrow I will post more before pictures and my measurements - so by the time I reach my goal weight I can post after pictures and measurements to compare!
