Water Baby

We have started entering into our terrible two stage earlier than wanted. Connor is full of energy, but he is also very stubborn and demanding. If he doesn't get what he wants he throws a tantrum or hits or bites (no biting at our house though right now, thank goodness). Since all this has been happening Nick and I have been researching and reading books on discipline for children. Connor is still at the age where you can not reason with him yet, but there are still positive ways we have been working with him on. So far it seems to be going great. One thing though we have found that calms Connor down and excites him too is water. He is the total water baby. (just like his momma!)

I can not wait till it gets warmer outside and we are able to go to the pool, Schlitterbahn, and Splash Town. Connor will absolutely have a blast. Lately we have been putting bubbles in his bath and he loves them. I've been trying to teach him how to blow bubbles in the water. He hasn't quite mastered that yet, but we are practicing.
So I've already started planning our water adventures to get him use to the water more and be okay putting his face in the water. Since we moved into our new house this past summer we have been dying to use our neighborhood pool (its nothing special), but its so close to the house. And in June we are going to New Braunsfel with the Schneider family for a couple of days - so Schlitterbahn here we come. Then we are also going to Rockport with the Bryan family for a fishing tournement. Finally we live right across the freeway from Splashtown and Nick's friend works there so do I hear the words DISCOUNT - yes I do!

All in all I'm so glad to have a baby who loves water and is adventurous. Boys are so much fun and we are truly blessed to have such a fun, loving, stubborn, and fiesty child!

Holiday Season Greetings

So the holidays have begun and I can not be more excited to actually have a break from work. Even though Connor and I are both kind of feeling yucky we will enjoy these days off with friends and family

Our holidays have begun with cleaning the house and getting it organized for company. Nick graduated from Sam Houston State University! I have also been finishing up some crafting projects. One of my projects was making the baby letters for my soon to be nephew's baby room. Sawyer's room is decked out in pirate gear - check out below:

Nick and I have finished christmas shopping and wrapping presents and now we are just kicking back and relaxing until family gets into town. We have gone to one Christmas party this year, one bible study Christmas gathering, and we plan to go to Christmas Service. Our church always has a wonderful Christmas program and this year they are having real snow and Santa for the kids! This year we will be spending Christmas Eve with Nick's family and Christmas morning with my family. Then we will probably head back over Nick's families' house Christmas evening while my family spends the evening with my brother and his inlaws at their house.

The day after Christmas we plan to celebrate Connor's first birthday. Check out the invitation and theme and we will post pictures of the holiday season and party at the start of the new year. Merry Christmas from the Bryan family.

Connor meets Santa

This weekend we decided to get ready for Christmas since we are going to be out of town for Thanksgiving. Not only did we decorate the house we took Connor to see Santa Claus. Santa picked up Connor and started talking to him. Connor was not sure about all this and looked so scared. He would only laugh at Santa if he pulled out the stuff animal. Eventually Connor began to whine because he was ready to get away from Santa and back into the comfort of mommy and daddy's arms.

While Connor was on Santa's lap, Nick and I were by the photographer trying to get Connor to smile for the picture with bells and whistles. We finally got one picture and Connor was like I've had enough.

Santa gave Connor a candy cane and boy did he enjoy that! Thanks Santa!!
