Celebrating St. Nick Day

Our Christmas family tradition is to celebrate St. Nick Day each year.  St. Nick Day is usually around December 6th.  This is the day that Santa fills the kids stockings and we watch the Veggie Tales St. Nick DVD.  Then Christmas Day we focus more on family and our Lord Jesus.  Santa tries to make sure the kids are filled with fun gifts for the holiday season.  This year they got christmas pjs, a christmas shirt, a christmas book, ornament, and some other fun goodies to play with.

Meeting Santa Claus

While in Spicewood, TX for the Thanksgiving holidays we went to visit the lights in Marble Falls.  Santa Claus was also there too, so we made sure we had a visit.  This is Codi's first time to see Santa and it was quite interesting seeing Santa juggle with three kids on his lap and Daddy trying to get out of the picture.  The kids loved the lights and their candy cane treats.  My sister and brother in-law brought their two boxers with us and they were quite the enjoyment by others too.

Old Town Spring Christmas Lighting

I love the Christmas time, but I hate the crowds.  One place during the holidays that is not super crowded and lovely at night is the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Old Town Spring.  Last year we were able to hear some fun music, eat funnel cake and visit with Santa.  So I was expecting the same thing this year.  Unfortunately Nick had to work late so we made it just in time for some of the festivities and to meet up with our friends. We saw Santa but he was not taking photos that night.  We played around the gorgeous tree and then checked out the lights and ate dinner at Wunsche Brothers.  They have wonderful beer bread, great hamburgers and you can still buy bottled coke.  Great place for food and entertainment.
