What's Cookin For Dinner......

I have really been budgeting our food lately and planning weekly meals for us to try.  I am a very picky eater so it is very hard for me to cook things for other people that I do not like.  I'm doing better at it and really trying out flavors and learning to try new things.  In the long run I am saving us a lot more money and we are eating healthier because it is not boxed or processed foods.  Of course I've gotten a lot of them from Pinterest and then another fave site of mine is The Six Sisters Stuff.

Here are some of our favorites so far:

Crock Pot Meals: (they are awesome for our family and our busy schedules)

Crock Pot Chicken Soft Tacos - this is what I'm making tonight

Crock Pot Chicken Parmesan

Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken

Ham and Potato Casserole - (Codi's Favorite)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pesto & Cheese Stuffed Chicken

Baked Spaghetti with Cream Cheese

Roasted Garlic Lemon Shrimp (Mommy's Favorite)

Chicken Parmesan Meatloaf (The Boy's Favorite)

Creamy Tomato Basil Pasta (Nick' Favorite) - can't find the recipe right now but here is how I made it:

Cook bowtie pasta - 8oz
Cook chicken in garlic and olive oil and then pour in about 1/4 chicken broth
In a mixing bowl add 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 3/4 cup sundried tomatoes in oil, 1/4 milk, parsley, basil, pepper to taste, Classico Alfredo Sauce Jar
Then add in chicken mixture and pasta
Pour into 2qt dish and sprinkle with parmesan
Bake at 350 for 15 min in a 2qt dish covered and another 10 min uncovered

Ham and Cheese Sliders

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken

They are all great recipes!  Have fun trying them out - I promise you won't go wrong.

Pinterest Love

Tonight my church group is having a pinterest party, which by the way I'm so excited about. A Pinterest party by the way is when someone makes something from their Pinterest boards and brings to share with everyone. I wanted to share with you what I completed for the party.  You can look at this post of mine to see the images I copied from.

1. Verse of the Week hanging plaque

I bought a vintage cheese plate and sprayed it with Heirloom White.

Then I sanded the edges and stained them.

I bought chalk board paint and painted the areas I wanted to write on with the black paint. Then at the top visually copied the lettering from my inspiration photo and painted it.

2. I made ornaments for my babies that included their picture and birth stats. They are not complete yet. I bought 2" cubes and typed and printed their info on stationary paper. Then I cut each square out and modge podged it to the cube. I still need to buy some hoop hooks and ribbon so they can hang on the tree

Exciting things to look forward to

1.  Fall is just around the corner and I have been busy decorating and filling my Scentsy candles with smelly goodness.  Check out the latest ------ Fall Mantle

2.  I will be posting progress pictures by next Monday of my weight loss.  I have lost a total of 20lbs since having Codi and a total of 40lbs since being pregnant with Codi.  My initial weight before I had Codi was 170lbs (never lost my pregnancy weight from Caden).  I was 190lbs when I delivered Codi.  Had Codi and went back to 170lbs and now I'm at 150lbs.  It has been exactly 2-1/2 mths since I started my weight loss challenge.  I will let you know I have gone down from a size 10 to an 8 and now 8s are starting to fill a little big.  Size 6 here we come!!!  Check back Monday for pictures.

3.  I'm contemplating starting a 12 week weight loss challenge with a bunch of people.  The Kelsey Byers Challenge - she has been my inspiration since I started my journey.  If your interested - check it out and sign up - totally free!  Begins October 1st - registration end by then too.
