Holiday Season Greetings

So the holidays have begun and I can not be more excited to actually have a break from work. Even though Connor and I are both kind of feeling yucky we will enjoy these days off with friends and family

Our holidays have begun with cleaning the house and getting it organized for company. Nick graduated from Sam Houston State University! I have also been finishing up some crafting projects. One of my projects was making the baby letters for my soon to be nephew's baby room. Sawyer's room is decked out in pirate gear - check out below:

Nick and I have finished christmas shopping and wrapping presents and now we are just kicking back and relaxing until family gets into town. We have gone to one Christmas party this year, one bible study Christmas gathering, and we plan to go to Christmas Service. Our church always has a wonderful Christmas program and this year they are having real snow and Santa for the kids! This year we will be spending Christmas Eve with Nick's family and Christmas morning with my family. Then we will probably head back over Nick's families' house Christmas evening while my family spends the evening with my brother and his inlaws at their house.

The day after Christmas we plan to celebrate Connor's first birthday. Check out the invitation and theme and we will post pictures of the holiday season and party at the start of the new year. Merry Christmas from the Bryan family.

Connor meets Santa

This weekend we decided to get ready for Christmas since we are going to be out of town for Thanksgiving. Not only did we decorate the house we took Connor to see Santa Claus. Santa picked up Connor and started talking to him. Connor was not sure about all this and looked so scared. He would only laugh at Santa if he pulled out the stuff animal. Eventually Connor began to whine because he was ready to get away from Santa and back into the comfort of mommy and daddy's arms.

While Connor was on Santa's lap, Nick and I were by the photographer trying to get Connor to smile for the picture with bells and whistles. We finally got one picture and Connor was like I've had enough.

Santa gave Connor a candy cane and boy did he enjoy that! Thanks Santa!!

Just Add Water

Growing up I loved water. I never got enough of water. I was on summer league swim team every year, then I joined FLEET which was a year round swim team program, and in high school I also was on Varsity swim team. So I was always in water, and even our vacations consisted of the beach, or swimming pools.

Therefore, I just knew my baby would be a water person too and it so happens that Connor loves the water as much as I did and still do. Over Memorial Day weekend we went to Galveston to visit Connor's Uncle Chad and had a beach day and poolside fun. Here are pictures of our experience!!!

Connor's Baby Dedication

At our church on Mother's Day they hold a special baby dedication. There were over 200 babies dedicated. It was so special and a day I will remember for a long time. Connor received a bible with his name on it and a certificate. Here are some pictures and a link to watch the dedication video - we are the third one announced on the 930 service. Enjoy!

New Experiences

Connor is 4 months old today and he is like a sponge - soaks up everything. Nick and I enjoy just sitting there and watching him experience new things and new people. Don't get me wrong though he still has a temper but he can turn it on and off like a light switch. Its his attention getter!

New things:
1. He now does tummy time and lifts his head up so high
2. He is teething
3. He is laughing and giggling all the time
4. He recognizes mommy and daddy instantly and knows when they are around and not around
5. grabbing for toys
6. sitting in the bumbo chair - yay!
7. eating cereal and formula
8. loves to play Patty Cake (just giggles)
9. grabs toes
10. almost turning over

New fun toys:
1. exersaucer - bounces and plays all this kind of music
2. bouncy chair - hangs from doorway
3. Learn about your home - a gift from my students (so cool - very educational and lots of music)
4. swing for outside (he is getting next week from Mimi and Papa)

Connor is going to be one bright child and we can not wait for many more fun things to happen and the changes he will encounter. Here are some updated pictures from this past month - enjoy!

Hippity Hop

Well my long 3 months of maternity leave are over too soon and I am back to work tomorrow. I am so not ready to go back and would love to just be off through August and begin the year a fresh, but I don't get that choice. I enjoyed my Spring Break with Connor - which was the best weather ever! We were outside every chance we could get. This weekend though Nick got a stomach virus and of course I also got it - so today I am missing the rodeo to stay at home and get better for work tomorrow. Hopefully it will hurry and subside - because it sucks! Other than that I will miss being a stay at home mommy - it is the hardest but best job ever. Grandma Sue and Mimi will take wonderful care of him.

Here are some updated pictures of Connor:

Connor does not like his Bumbo seat yet - soon though - hopefully!

First day of Sunday School

Here are Connor's first day of Sunday School pictures as I promised. He did so good in the nursery! They fed and changed him, but he did not want the ladies to hold him, but he played the entire time in his crib and was completely satisfied. Enjoy!
